The MGH Diabetes Center’s very own Dr. David Nathan was featured on the television program The View yesterday. Dr. Nathan gives an overview of the difference between type 1 and type 2 Diabetes and explains how being overweight or obese may contribute to its onset. Dr. Nathan is joined by a patient, a young woman who says she was diagnosed with type 2 Diabetes when she was just 12 years old. They discuss how she enrolled in a clinical trial known as the TODAY study at the MGH Diabetes Center which focuses on learning more about people who develop type 2 Diabetes at a young age.  She has been able to get her Diabetes under control with lifestyle changes and is now off all of her Diabetes-related medications!
