November 14th is World Diabetes Day, a day set aside to help raise awareness of diabetes across the globe. Created in 1991 by the International Diabetes Federation and the World Health Organization, World Diabetes Day later became an official United Nations Day to be observed worldwide on this day every year. The date was chosen in honor of the birthday of Dr. Frederick Banting, one of the men who discovered insulin.
We will be hosting our annual World Diabetes Day education and awareness event today from 9am to 4pm in the main lobby near Coffee Central. You are invited to stop by and learn more about diabetes and have your questions answered by our clinicians and nutritionists.
